What hours can I access my unit?
Normal gate access is from 6:00 am to 10:00 pm , seven days a week, 365 days a year. 24 HR access is optional.
Does anyone else have access to my unit?
Only you have access to your unit, unless you give someone else your gate code, key and unit #. As the tenant you are solely responsible for your unit and anyone you give your information to. There is a release you can sign if you receive deliveries on a regular basis and would like Buffalo Storage to have a key and access to your unit. Buffalo Storage maintains a strict privacy practice. We do not share your information with others.
How does the gate system operate?
At the time of rental we help you choose a unique personal code that is entered into the computerized gate system. You enter your code whenever you wish to enter or exit the facility. Your code not only activates the gate, allowing you to enter or exit the facility, but also disarms and rearms your individual door alarm.
What kind of Security Features does Buffalo Storage offer?
We are fenced, gated, well lit and have 24 hour video recording. All unit doors have individual alarms and computers monitor and record all gate and door activity.
If I need more space after I move in what options do I have?
Buffalo Storage management will help you assess the size unit you need prior to you moving in. This helps you to move into the best size unit for your needs. If you still require additional space we will be happy to help you select an additional unit or transfer you to a larger size unit if applicable.
Can I store anything in my storage unit?
You are not to store any flammable, explosive, corrosive, hazardous or illicit materials. We do not allow storage of anything that might attract rodents or other pests. This includes food stuff, any type of grain or cereal, opened food containers of any kind, dry dog food, bird seed , grass seed, etc. Any item(s) or activity that would negatively impact your storage neighbors is prohibited.
Is it alright to store old files, photos, electronics, antiques or anything that could be sensitive to the heat?
We offer climate control units for those delicate items that require a little extra attention. A climate controlled unit is temperature controlled by a central air system to protect your valuables from temperature extremes.
What is the length of time I can rent my storage unit?
All lease agreements are month to month. The minimum length of a lease is for one month and the lease automatically renews each month as long as you pay the rent. Discounts are available for long term, pre-paid rentals.
Do I need to call prior to visiting Buffalo Storage?
No, our professional management team is in the office Monday thru Friday, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm and on Saturday from 8:00 am – 12:00 pm. You are always welcome to call for information, but we invite you to stop by and allow us to give you a tour of our facility.
What is the procedure to rent a storage unit?
When you decide to lease a unit from our facility, we will ask for the following information: valid identification with picture and signature (such as a driver’s license or state identification), a valid mailing address and phone numbers, emergency contact name with phone number, and form of payment. You will sign a lease agreement and we will go over gate procedures, door latches, the cylinder locks and other rules and regulations of the facility.
Are there any special requirements prior to moving in?
No, your unit will be clean and ready for you at the time of rental.
Is my storage unit insured by Buffalo Storage?
No, your personal items are not insured by Buffalo Storage. Some renter’s insurance policies cover items you store in your storage unit, but you will need to check with your insurance agent directly. We do offer an insurance option for tenant’s who wish to purchase insurance.
When is my rent due?
Rent is due on the anniversary date of your rental. Example: If you sign your lease on the 12th of the month, your rent will always be due on the 12th of each month.
Do you accept credit cards?
Yes, we accept Visa, MasterCard, Discover and American Express. For your convenience, we also offer automatic credit card billing at no charge. When you sign up for this service we automatically charge your credit card on your renewal date and notify you by phone or email a confirmation of the transaction, by request. If you like, you can pick up a receipt during office hours.
Is there a late charge if my rent is not paid?
Yes, a late fee is incurred the 5th day rent is past due.
Do I have to pay a security deposit or any other fees to move in?
We do not charge security deposits on most units. During the initial move in process we do charge a one-time administrative fee of $25.00.
Will I need to bring or purchase a lock?
No, a cylinder lock is included in the administration fee at the time of rental.
Do you sell moving and packing supplies?
Yes, we offer a variety of moving and packing supplies to meet all of your packing needs.
Is any moving equipment provided for tenant’s use?
Yes, we have hand carts and moving dollies available for use onsite.
Does your facility allow large moving vans and tractor-trailers?
Yes, our facility can accomodate all large moving vans for your convenience.
